All is well. I can't complain. But good gravy, I am ready to be finished with pregnancy. I've reached a phase I'm calling "comically pregnant." Really, there's no other word for it. See for yourself:
It's to the point now where a lot of my maternity clothes can no longer contain my globe-sized belly. So yes, "comically pregnant" seems an appropriate term.
We are doing really well in the baby preparedness department. My mom and aunt came and spent a week with us to help us get things ready at our house. Think "Extreme Home Makeover: Baby Edition." They put together the nursery, cleaned out and organized our storage room, ditto with our guest room, and really just scattered magic and sunshine everywhere they went. Behold the nursery (or part of it, at least):
We went with a sports theme, because Bryan has high hopes our baby boy will one day play for the Utah Jazz. Any other sport would also be fine, as long as it makes our son a millionaire.
We also had two baby showers. My office kindly threw a shower for us that was wonderful. Somehow I managed not to capture any pictures of that one. My sweet friend Maren also had a shower for me while my mom and aunt were here -- unfortunately, Maren ended up in the hospital with a migraine and couldn't even attend. But she did a fabulous job, nonetheless. Check out the food:
The treats on the right sticking out of the pail are balls of cake covered in chocolate. And yes, Maren made them. They were amazing, as was everything else. Thanks, Maren!
So, to recap, thanks to wonderful friends and family, the baby has a cozy place to sleep, a comfy chair to be rocked in, adorable clothes to wear, teeny tiny diapers to soil, and just about everything else I can think of that he might need. Yes, we have a carseat. I am told the baby can't leave the hospital without one, so we're covered there. And we're still two and half weeks until the due date. Bryan went with me to my doctor's appointment this week. The doctor said everything looks good, and that he still expects the May 16 due date to hold, to which Bryan responded, "So you're saying there's no way that the baby will be born today, right? Because this week would be really convenient for me." The doctor gave him a strange look and said, "Um, right." If only it were that simple, Bryan.

Good luck! I hope baby boy comes at a convenient time-ha! It's so incredible. You guys will be great parents.
I'm so excited for you Chelsey! Will you call me...I don't think I have your cell or home #'s. Mine is #480-205-5291. If I don't hear from you I'll call your mama. Wanna talk and catch up!--Kim
Ahem - it wasn't a "forgot" to call you. It was a whirlwind roadtrip and mostly visiting with the two families we knew wouldn't be disturbed by out complete chaos. Sorry, sister. I mean I figure we can be neighbors one day anyway and you'll get plenty of me. You are one cute pregnant girl. I cannot wait to hear about that little guys arrival. You guys will be great parents. And if you need advice on parenting you can totally call me cause I'm like the best at it :). Love ya!!
You're not just "prepared" for that baby...there should be another word for it...uber-prepared? But everything looks so cute! Especially you! So excited for you. I'm going to send you a gift...but I'm going to wait a little bit until you discover what you desperately need and don't have. And then I can be the pseudo-aunt that sent a miraculous gift -- I've never been one of those before!
