Three Months Old!

As of today, August 15, Archie is three months old.  Weird.  In some ways -- most ways, I'd say -- it feels like it's been a lot longer than that.  Seriously, it's getting harder and harder to remember what life was like without the little guy in our house.

I mean that in a good way.

Anyway, I figured that three months would be a decent enough time to make note of what he's been up to lately.

First of all, there are his looks.  Archie is apparently a perfect mix between Chelsey and me.  But, you don't really see both of our traits at the same time.  One minute, he's a dead ringer for Chelsey, and, the next, he looks exactly like my baby pictures.  It's crazy.

For example, here are two pictures taken within minutes of each other today.

Here he is looking just like his mom:

Literally, less than a minute later, he smiles and looks like this:

Maybe I'm deluding myself.  But, to me, this looks just like this baby picture of me:

Anyway, he's pretty much the cutest baby on the planet.  So, it's a big ego boost to see anything of myself in there.

Archie's newest trick is that he stands up.  Not on his own or anything, we have to hold him up (he's only three months people, give him some time).  During his fussy moments -- which are exceptionally rare, by the way -- we just stand him up on his feet and he quiets right down and usually starts giggling.  Obviously, he can't balance himself, but he's already to the point where he supports a good chunk of his own weight.

This isn't the best example...he was kind of lazy when we took this video.  Still, it'll give you an idea:

As Chelsey's mentioned in previous posts.  He loves sucking on his hands.  He's also started grabbing whatever he can get his hands on, particularly his clothes or his blankets.  When we put him to bed, he usually spends a good 10-15 minutes playing with his blanket before he falls asleep, sometimes with the blanket pulled over his head.

Here he is earlier tonight tugging away at his shirt...and drooling on it for good measure:

Anyway, this is going on too long.  He's just such a funny little kid.  We think we'll keep him around...for another three months at least.
