News Flash -- Bryan is Still Fat

Yes, I planned on posting about my weight-loss efforts on a weekly (or at least biweekly) basis. And, for those keeping track, it has been about two and a half weeks since my initial post. I know it's a rotten excuse, but I was hoping to have something to report before I posted again. Sadly, I have no such news. Two and half weeks and -- it really pains me to say it -- I think I'm actually heavier than I was when I started.

Sad. So very sad.

Now, it's not that I haven't been fulfilling my promise to eat less and exercise more. The only exceptions were the very next day when I took my wife out for her birthday dinner to a rodizio-style restaurant and last Sunday when my wife made my favorite dessert -- a nameless confection that I refer to simply as "delicious," as in "I want another bowl of 'delicious' please." But, other than those days, I've done alright. I've been eating popcorn for lunch and having dinners so small that I don't think they'd be considered "sensible" by Slimfast standards. And still...nothing.

What gives?

I think the problem is that I believed I still had 10 pounds of illusory fatness that I could lose by utilizing only de minimus lifestyle changes. Maybe I outgrew that phase and now I'm just a full-on fatty.

So, what to do? Weight Watchers, that's what. Yes, I'm going to pay $16 a month to have access to a website to monitor and rate my food. I've done it before. It works. And, to be honest, under my current regimen, I'm a lot hungrier during the day than I was then. So, Weight Watchers it is.

I'll keep you posted, people. The situation is getting dire.

Just a little hint, have you ever heard of Clif Bars? They are a power bar, yes. But they don't taste like 'em. With names like chocolate chip cookie dough, blueberry crisp, double chocolate fudge, chocolate mint brownie and crunchy peanut butter they are m-m-good. Take it from me that lost 50lbs last year. (ps i order them from amazon)

My wife buys those for our kids at Costco in a giant box. They love em.

Way to own up to it. I like that a man can be frank in a way that no woman would be willing to admit. Good luck with the WW.

No such thing as quick fixes, friend. Don't go to Oprah for advice of any kind. Success in life and the waistline requires work. Pump some iron. ;-)

Sounds like you are not eating enough or at the right times. Also how much are you sleeping?

I lost 50 pounds a little while ago and I didn't do any of the dieting things that people do. Then again I put 20 pounds back on because I felt a little to light.
