My Similes Need Work

For my hour of writing tonight, I just decided to write out a scene that's been in my head for some time. I didn't want to work on the book idea yet, I just wanted to get used to moving ideas from my head onto the computer screen.

It was just one scene and I don't really plan on doing anything with it. I'm sure there could be a larger story than just this initial opening, but, for some reason, I've never really thought beyond that point. After trying to write it out, I'm kinda glad I didn't.

Anyway, self-criticism aside, as I was writing the scene, I came up with this sentence:

Like a cheap pervert looking at porn on a scrambled channel, he stared
desperately into his mind, hoping to locate something familiar.

I found that to be of both poor taste and poor quality. In other words, hilarious.
